Huffman Leads Team with Passion

Growing up in a small midwestern town gave this creative and energetic self-starter a drive for larger-than-life ideas and a passion for incredible outcomes. Find out more about the driving force behind Educational Destinations.

Sarah Huffman began her journey with the Music Travel team as a tour director in 2018. In July 2022, she became the Director of Educational Destinations. Sarah spends her days leading an all-female team of travel designers and her evenings watching her children in activities or teaching local performing groups.

Huffman thrives in communication and problem solving which she feels are two of the most important skills in her role. But her real passion is in seeing students learn.

“The most rewarding part of my job is seeing students grow through experiential learning. It is incredible to watch young minds come alive as they engage with history, science and culture in real-world settings,” Huffman said. “Whether it’s standing where history was made, exploring cutting-edge innovations or immersing themselves in different cultures, these experiences provide lasting lessons beyond the classroom,” said Huffman.

“Knowing that we help create moments that inspire curiosity, broaden perspectives and spark lifelong passions makes this work deeply fulfilling. Seeing my team succeed in creating these experiences is the best feeling!”

The role of director comes with many challenges especially when groups are traveling. “I have immense admiration for our team members who have navigated complex situations with professionalism and care. They are my heroes,” Huffman said. With many miles of travel in the past and much more in her future, Sarah would love to visit Japan. “I have dreamt of going to Japan since I was little. I will get there some day!” she said.
