We are closely monitoring the Coronavirus situation and are working with individuals and groups to make the best decision for the travelers on our tours.<\/p>\n<p>The situation surrounding the Coronavirus, officially titled COVID-19, continues to develop rapidly. Although there are no travel advisories or restrictions currently in the United States, we understand that organizations, schools, and municipalities may make those decisions separately. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/emergencies\/diseases\/novel-coronavirus-2019\">World Health Organization<\/a>\u00a0(WHO) and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/cases-in-us.html\">Center for Disease Control and Prevention<\/a>\u00a0(CDC) regularly update their statistics as more is learned about the disease.<\/p>\n<p>The CDC is now reporting 38 states with active cases. As more testing occurs, that number will increase however no US city or area currently has a community transmission risk assessment.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>The CDC continues to encourage the following ways to keep your family safe:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Avoid close contact with people who are sick.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.<\/li>\n<li>Stay home when you are sick.<\/li>\n<li>Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.<\/li>\n<li>Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.<\/li>\n<li>Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.<\/li>\n<li>Follow public health advice regarding school closures, avoiding crowds and other social distancing measures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<p>We are in constant contact with our travel partners across the US. Presently, all are operating without interruption. All are carefully monitoring the situation and are in regular contact with health agencies for information and guidance. They continue to implement preventive measures in line with their recommendations and the input of medical teams. For example, Disney locations have added additional hand sanitizers throughout the park, increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfection in high Guest-contact areas and are providing information about good hygiene practices and illness prevention to their Guests and Cast Members.<\/p>\n<p>At this time, our tours will proceed as planned unless local or national health organizations prevent us from doing so. Educational Destinations continues to follow guidance from the CDC, state and local departments of health, and school districts to ensure a safe environment for our travelers.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>The Student &amp; Youth Travel Association (SYTA) is hosting a free webinar to share facts and guidance on student travel during this period. In high school, he studied at the North Carolina School for the Performing Arts. A Ball State University Young Artists Scholarship recipient, Mark earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education in 1989. He was the assistant band director and assistant choir director at LaPorte High School (IN) and served as music department chair at Frankton High School (IN). The 1998 Concerto Competition winner at the University of Louisville, Mark taught brass methods and marching band techniques classes while working on his master's degree in conducting at University of Louisville. Mark's marching and concert bands at La Porte and Frankton high schools received consistent superior ratings. His winter guards made the Indiana High School Color Guard Association finals seven times, were IHSCGA State Champions in 1996, and were Winter Guard International World Championship finalists four times. Mark has served on the boards of directors for both Winter Guard International and the Indiana High School Color Guard Association. In 1997, Mark began a career as a student travel planner at Educational Destinations. Since then, he has been an adjudicator and clinician throughout the Midwest, and he's taught private lessons and chamber ensembles at Avon (IN) High School. Currently, Mark serves on the marching band staff of Avon High School's Marching Black and Gold. So far during his tenure, the band has been crowned ISSMA State Marching Band Champions 9 times. It has been a BOA Grand National finalist 9 times, and the BOA Grand National Champions in 2008, 2009 and In high school, he studied at the North Carolina School for the Performing Arts. A Ball State University Young Artists Scholarship recipient, Mark earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education in 1989. He was the assistant band director and assistant choir director at LaPorte High School (IN) and served as music department chair at Frankton High School (IN). The 1998 Concerto Competition winner at the University of Louisville, Mark taught brass methods and marching band techniques classes while working on his master's degree in conducting at University of Louisville. Mark's marching and concert bands at La Porte and Frankton high schools received consistent superior ratings. His winter guards made the Indiana High School Color Guard Association finals seven times, were IHSCGA State Champions in 1996, and were Winter Guard International World Championship finalists four times. Mark has served on the boards of directors for both Winter Guard International and the Indiana High School Color Guard Association. In 1997, Mark began a career as a student travel planner at Educational Destinations. Since then, he has been an adjudicator and clinician throughout the Midwest, and he's taught private lessons and chamber ensembles at Avon (IN) High School. Currently, Mark serves on the marching band staff of Avon High School's Marching Black and Gold. So far during his tenure, the band has been crowned ISSMA State Marching Band Champions 9 times.
