October 1, 1903: The First World Series Begins<\/h2>\n

The inaugural modern World Series between the Boston Americans (later known as the Red Sox) and the Pittsburgh Pirates marked the beginning of one of America\u2019s most celebrated traditions. Baseball\u2019s history offers lessons in teamwork, perseverance and cultural change.<\/p>\n

October 4, 1957: Sputnik 1 Launches into Orbit<\/h2>\n

When the Soviet Union launched Sputnik 1, it became the first artificial satellite to orbit Earth and ignited the Space Race. The event reshaped global priorities in science and education, leading to major advancements in technology and exploration. Following the devastation of World War II, representatives from 50 nations signed the United Nations Charter, which took effect on October 24, 1945, officially establishing the UN. October 28, 1886: The Statue of Liberty is Dedicated<\/h2>\n
